ABOUT KINGS BASEBALL

Kings is an organized baseball team for baseball players living in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to create a comprehensive, community-based program to support the development of players across the 13u participation level and up. We will never roster more than 12 players on any 13u Team, so having a tight, cohesive player unit is a key strategy to our unity.  Our ultimate vision is to foster a resilient team at the youth level to promote skills, confidence, and leadership acceleration.

The Kings program goals are to do the following:

  • Provide effective, high quality, advanced training and experiences for our players.

  • Provide programs that are cooperative with, and respected by other community programs.

  • Seek to maximize the potential of every player in the program.

  • Encourage and foster player participation for the full length of a player’s youth sports career by putting each player in a position to be successful.

  • Emphasize the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Our Seasons are classified as the following date ranges:

Winter** Dec 8 - March 9  (10  x 2 hour practice sessions)

Spring** March 10 - May 31 (3-4 tournaments- Big Show/ECTB/MSI)

Summer** June 1 - Aug 31 (5-7 tournaments- Ripken/Big Show/InTheNet/ECTB/MSI)

Fall** Sept 1 - Nov 15 (6-7 tournaments- Ripken/Big Show/InTheNet/ECTB/MSI)

Most tournaments Kings Tournament Baseball attends are not more than a 1.5 hour drive away from Berwyn, PA HQ.  That said, there may be additional team initiatives at extended stay summer tournaments to destinations that may involve a further distance and more than a 2 day lodging stay.  Players are always expected to assist in fundraising activities.  Our goal will always be to cover costs completely, however this is not guaranteed.

It is expected that if your athlete makes a team, you will be committed to this team for 1 season (summer, fall, winter or spring). If your athlete has additional commitments, the expectation is that the Kings team will take priority. You can read more about our attendance requirement here.  It will be critical to communicate unavailability with the coaching staff. Commitment and availability are crucial for roster creation and to ensure that each roster is fully committed.  There will be a variety of seasonal costs including, but not limited to, tournament entry fees, training, uniforms, and travel costs.

As an organization, we encourage opportunity, however, playing time may not be equal. There are no rules pertaining to innings played or positioning in the field, though best effort is made by coaches to find proper situations in games to mix up playing positions.

Representing Kings in the community in a positive manner with exceptional sportsmanship is required.  Our code of conduct can be reviewed here.
